How to apply for accommodation
Application forms are available from the Charity and on line
from here
Applicants need to satisfy the following conditions in
order to be considered:-
- Elderly or mature disabled persons
- Currently living within the Ancient Parish
of Harborne
- In housing need on low incomes
- Harborne/Quinton area :- have savings of less than £120,000
(including value of property)
- Smethwick area: have savings less than £90,000 (including
value of property)
Applicants are assessed by the Trustees'
Almoners sub-committee following a visit from the Clerk.
The Charity's current housing schemes:-
Harborne Cottages, Smethwick

16 cottages, plus a communal room and two laundries.
Built in 1927 around a central lawn.
Harborne
House, Harborne

31
one-bedroom flats and one 2-bedroomed flat, built in two
phases 1974 and 1984. With Warden Support, a community room,
a lift, guest accommodation and two laundries.
Firs Close, Smethwick

33 one-bedroomed flats with warden support, a lift, a community
room, a guest flat and a laundry. Completed in 1991.
Larksfield, Smethwick

10 one-bedroomed flats
including four suitable for wheelchair users, with warden
support and a lift, built in 1996.
Dore
House, Harborne

a
conversion to six one-bedroomed flats, with warden support
and a lift, first let in 1996.

The Charity is
a registered social landlord and subject to regulation by the
Housing Corporation.
The Independent
Housing Ombudsman Service is available to resolve disputes and
complaints which cannot be settled by the Charity's procedures.
